This rubric is intended to guide faculty in scoring a group presentation and allow instructors to score groups both as a unit and for individual student’s skills and contributions. The rubric emphasizes that an effective group presentation requires coordination and cohesion from all members.

A rubric is an assessment tool that clearly indicates achievement criteria across all the components of any kind of student work, from written to oral to visual. It can be used for marking assignments, class participation, or overall grades. There are two types of rubrics: holistic and analytical.
To use this approach, review the rubric for the type of writing in question before you begin scoring, and keep the criteria listed on the rubric in mind as you read and score each paper on a scale of 0–4. Rubrics for each writing type can be found on pages 17, 22, 27, 36–38, and 43.
Participates when prompted and in small groups; Comments show respect and interest in the viewpoints of others. Sometimes participates, but at other times is “tuned out”; Sometimes dominates the discussion without consideration for other students; Comments show respect for other students religious beliefs.
What is a rubric? A rubric is a set of scoring guidelines for evaluating student work. Rubrics answer the questions: By what criteria should performance be judged? Where should we look and what should we look for to judge performance success? What does the range in the quality of performance look like?
Writing rubrics can help address the concerns of both faculty and students by making writing assessment more efficient, consistent, and public. Whether it is called a grading rubric, a grading sheet, or a scoring guide, a writing assignment rubric lists criteria by which the writing is graded.
