A Pulsation Dampener is an accumulator designed to absorb pressure pulsations created by reciprocating pumps. Pulsation Dampeners are used to reduce wear and tear on all system components including the pump.
This equipment plays an important role as an accessory to Yamada air-operated double diaphragm pumps. The pulsation dampener serves to reduce pulsation produced in operation and to assure stable discharge flow and pressure.
The TUNE-R for AHU devices is principally designed to be used as part of air handling units and fan systems to cover the airflow tuning and the airtight shut-off functionalities. The dampers can be used in indoor and conditionally in outdoor climates.
30 Μαρ 2021 · A pulsation damper works thanks to the same compressed air that feeds the pump. The compressed air introduced into the counter-pressure chamber behind the membrane creates a pneumatic damping cushion that self-adjusts according to the stress exerted by the pressure pulse of the fluid generated by the pump.
Gear pumps can have extremely small pulses, but pulsations still exist. This pulsating flow can cause operational problems and shorten equipment’s service life. To alleviate the problem, pulsation dampeners can be added to the pumping system to absorb pressure spikes and smooth fluid flow.
TUNE-R is a control and shut-off damper designed for the particular needs of circular ducts. It is available in various versions with blade tightness class 1 or 4 and casing tightness class A or C tested according to EN 1751. The damper can be supplied in manual or motorized versions with an integrated position indicator.
