Doheny has a day use surfing beach at its northern end and a five-acre lawn with picnic facilities and volleyball courts.

In the days of the square-rigged sailing ships, the rugged cove was known as Bahia Capistrano and was the major port between San Diego and Santa Barbara. It seemed only natural that this scenic cove was destined to become one of the most beautiful recreational harbors on the west coast.

Dana Point Nature Interpretive Center — At end of the Street of the Green Lantern. There’s a small parking lot, or street parking. The center is open daily except Monday, and there is a posted map of the Dana Point Preserve Trail, which goes out around the natural preserve up on the Dana Point headlands. Ocean views galore.
