Mercury: • Can break into droplets when spilled. The droplets spread easily and can build up in tiny cracks and spaces in your house. • Can vaporize (evaporate) into the air in your house. Mercury is a type of elemental metal found in the Earth’s crust that’s toxic to humans. Mercury poisoning most often happens by eating too much seafood that contains mercury. If you were exposed to mercury, contact poison control at 1-800-222-1222.
29 Σεπ 2005 · Chronic exposure to Hg 0 vapors can damage the kidneys and neurologic system. Short-term exposure to high levels of Hg 0 vapors may cause lung damage, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, increases in blood pressure or heart rate, skin rashes, and eye irritation, among other effects.
