The Board of Police Commissioners is the collective head of the Los Angeles Police Department. It sets the overall policy while the Chief of Police manages the daily operations of the department and implements the board's policies and goals.
21 Μαρ 2009 · Daniel Takashi Sakai. Sergeant Daniel Sakai and Sergeant Ervin Romans, SWAT team members, were killed when they attempted to apprehend a suspect that had earlier in the day shot and killed Sergeant Mark Dunakin and mortally wounded Officer John Hege during a traffic stop.
21 Μαρ 2009 · As SWAT officers made entry, Mixon opened fire with an assault rifle from behind a closet door, killing Sergeant Ervin Romans and Sergeant Daniel Sakai. A third officer was wounded. Officers returned fire and Mixon was killed.
I dedicate my Capstone class for, Criminal Justice, to Daniel Takashi Sakai. I hope to one day be a brave and honorable police officer just as he was. His story is one i will carry with me through my life.
