Fishing bait is an item used with the fishing rod. It is used to fish in any fishing spot as long as the spot has the Bait Fishing Spot option. Each successful catch uses up one piece of bait, so bring an appropriate amount in your inventory if you wish to catch a lot of fish.
It is a small QoL for ironman who wish to train fishing at Dark Crabs. Right now it's a pain in the ass to get a normal amount of dark fishing bait. Ankou's drop the bait often, but not in large quantity's.
Roe and caviar can also be used as bait if there are no other types of bait in the player's inventory. One roe is needed for the Barbarian Herblore section further below, and multiple fish may need to be gutted due to the possibility of failing to do so. At level 80 Cooking, it is no longer possible to fail cutting salmon and sturgeon.
I’m looking for any advice on how to tackle 91 fishing (for achievement diary) while banking food supplies. Should it be a mix of different types of food (e.g. 50% anglers, 50% dark crabs)? I’m starting at 85 with full spirit anglers, fish barrel, and have about 10k karams banked.
Dark crabs fishing equipment: Lobster pot + dark fishing bait. Dark crabs location: Wilderness Resource Area. Levels 82-99 Fishing Minnows 550K/hr. Fishing minnows is by far the best way to make money with fishing in osrs. And unlike a lot of the other fishing training methods posted above, you get a good experience rate at the same time!
