30 Αυγ 2005 · The Time Windows manage to pump out some clean bass down to around 40 Hz, and in my modest living room, they sound spectacular, as good as the sound of the recordings or signals they are fed. I wish I could see a similar design utilizing modern drivers from SEAS or Scanspeak.
4 Μαρ 2021 · The Time Window 1A steps up to Vifa tweeters, I believe, a worthwhile design improvement in my opinion. (The superb DCM CX-17, 27 and 31 have an excellent Vifa or Visaton tweeter, both modified for DCM with ferrofluid cooling. I own some CX-17s with Visaton tweeters and I love them.)
15 Σεπ 2002 · The Time Windows do indeed sound remarkable, much better than I ever anticipated. I am driving them with a Sumo Nine Class A amplifier, purchased also in 1982 when I bought the DCMs. The combination of Sumo and the Time Windows is exceptional.
This review covers the orignal DCM Time Windows. Not the subsequent versions. I remember the first time I heard these. Their unique shape and sound where unlike anything I had heard before. Here was a speaker that really delivered the promise. It was driven by a PS Audio Amp and PS Audio LCC PreAmp.
In terms of models, the “1a” is the most common and is a great speaker. The “3” and “7” are even better but are far more rare. They’re all definitely full range speakers. I’ve pairs of 1’s and 3’s and the 3’s make you forget there is no subwoofer.

1 Μαρ 2018 · There was a lot of hype with the DCM Timewindow. Much of it due to clever advertising and a few 'rave' reviews. Some of it deserved, most not. Having owned TWs, they are more flawed than not, but very interesting speakers, nonetheless.
