19 Αυγ 2022 · “ Ramses the Great and The Gold of the Pharaohs,” opening Aug. 20 at the de Young Museum, showcases this royal mother lode in one of the largest exhibitions of ancient Egyptian splendor to come to the West Coast since the de Young’s “King Tut” exhibits—which captivated local museum goers in 1979 and 2009.
Amidst the Mitanni plot to conquer Egypt, Tut deals with a deadly illness spreading through the kingdom and an unexpected betrayal from his inner circle. "Tut" provides an imaginative story based on a minor Pharaoh of ancient Egypt who became ruler as a child and died as a teenager.
