Unlike many other tabletop games, humans are the only playable race in Deadlands, however there are endless "classes" or types to choose from. This allows for more dynamic character creation and adds variety when forming your "Posse."
Your best bet is to Google the game and read about characters and stories people have posted online, or to buy the game from PEG or DriveThru. I described some of the arcane backgrounds in Hell on Earth on its Wikipedia page, but there is a wealth of other options for non-arcane characters.
When looking at the different "classes" with powers/spells, do they each have a niche? What are the different focuses of scientists, shamans, huckers and blessed? Is one of them more offense oriented and another better at utility spells?
Savage Worlds uses a point buy system – a player starts with a set number of points which they distribute to various abilities and skills of the character. Different dice, including 4-sided, 6-sided, 8-sided, and 10-sided, define the characters’ traits. The standard difficulty for tasks is 4.
25 Ιαν 2019 · ---Grit is a Deadlands specific stat. It equals your rank (you start at Rank 1, so 1 grit). --You can (and should) buy gear from the Deadlands book. --Who are you and what's your deal, pardner?
22 Μαρ 2022 · Course, it also means when the character has to buy off the Kid Hindrance, those traits wouldn't automatically increase as they would for a character who originally had a d6 or better in those traits.
17 Σεπ 2008 · I'd start with the 2nd ed player and GM books (main rules and setting), then branch out with whatever other ones sound good. If you end up with particular character types, get those supps.
