4 Ιαν 2022 · Resentment is a passive, weak emotion that has no place in the Christian life. If there is injustice, we should deal with it through prayer and godly action. If there is insult, we should concentrate on who we are in Christ and not place too much value on the cruel words of others.
6 Δεκ 2021 · The Bible tells us resentment is not good and will only end in sin. Choose today to remove resentment and bitterness from your heart. If we are honest with ourselves, holding resentment toward others only makes us feel worse.
Focus on God. “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God” (Colossians 3:1). It’s incredibly tempting to focus our attentions on those who’ve hurt us. Yet we must intentionally look to God for help.
Resentment and bitterness are both passive-aggressive reactions to anger. Resentment is as old as Genesis 4. Cain was angry that God accepted Abel's sacrifice and not his own.
Will you let resentment get in the way? Review the list of qualities of a Christian in 2 Peter 1:5-7, and see if your feelings are compatible with them. If not, ask the Lord to show you how to reconcile your hard feelings with your desire to serve Him.
6 Μαρ 2021 · When we cling to resentment, we unknowingly give our offender ongoing power over our hearts, which keeps us enslaved to our anger. This prison we have created pulls us away from our Lord because we cannot hold on to bitterness and hold on to God.
To resent and resist God’s disciplining hand is to miss one of the greatest spiritual blessings we Christians can realize this side of Heaven. Whatever it is—aggravations, trouble, adversity, irritations, opposition—we haven’t “learned Christ” until we have discovered that God’s grace is sufficient for every test.
