15 Μαρ 2022 · The structure of a sound speed profile (SSP) in deep water causes refraction of sound rays and Convergence Zones (CZs) of high intensity where the rays focus at shallow depth. Study of sound field characteristics in the CZs has always been the focus of deep-water acoustics research.

The aim of the article is to illustrate the propagation of sound waves in sea water depending on the location of the source of sound emitted by surface ships or submarines.

31 Μαΐ 2024 · In deep-sea multibeam measurements, the challenge of inadequate longitudinal coverage of sound speed profiles arises from variations in seafloor topography, meteorological conditions,...
Resulting sound speeds cover most seawater areas from 82°S to 90°N at a spatial scale of 0.25 degrees, a temporal scale of monthly averages, and a variable depth scale. The resulting Rdata structures are made publically available.
1 Αυγ 2020 · This article introduces and evaluates a cost efficient method for reconstructing the full-depth SSP, which is to launch Expendable Bathythermograph (XBT) or Expendable Conductivity Temperature Depth (XCTD) underway, and jointly use the World Ocean Atlas 2018 (WOA2018).
wind noise in cold (Klusek and Lisimenka, 2016) and warm (Yang and Yang, 2021) deep oceans. In this paper, we study the variation in wind noise levels at a site near the shelf-break of northwest Australia at the same wind speeds in winter and summer with consequenty distinctly different sound speed profiles. 2 MEASUREMENTS
