Most chart types have two axes: a horizontal axis (or x-axis) and a vertical axis (or y-axis). This example teaches you how to change the axis type, add axis titles and how to change the scale of the vertical axis.
A line chart consists of a horizontal line i.e. x-axis and a vertical line i.e. y-axis to represent the data. The x-axis shows the time period whereas the y-axis shows the item that is being measured. A line chart clearly shows the increasing or decreasing trend of a particular item.
Use line charts to display a series of data points that are connected by lines. Analysts use line charts to emphasize changes in a metric on the vertical Y-axis by another variable on the horizontal X-axis. Often, the X-axis reflects time, but not always. Line charts are also known as line plots.
