20 Φεβ 2015 · When students define ethics, they connect the term to specific expectations that society has for professionals in professionals settings, such as codes of ethics. When students define morals, the term (or its variant morality) is usually reserved for prescriptive standards of behaviour imposed by some powerful entity.
In this article I examine codes of ethics and conduct across the States and Territories of Australia in terms of the ways they position the teacher as a professional, as a moral agent and as a public servant.
27 Ιουν 2019 · Codes of conduct are regulatory, giving comprehensive guidelines, while codes of ethics tend to be aspirational, aiming to identify ideals and expectations to strive for. While a code of ethics tends to describe morally laudable professional values, a code of conduct often presents prohibitions.
The code of ethics is the key public statement of that promise. Of course, for a code of professional conduct to provide reliable assurances to the public about the trustworthiness of a profession, the conduct of professionals must be more or less consistent with the code.
