In some references, Desiderata is still thought to have been found at Old St. Paul's Church in Baltimore and dates back to 1692; however, it was apparently written by Max Ehrmann, a poet and lawyer from Terre Haute, Indiana, who lived from 1872 to 1945, and copyrighted by him in 1927. ... Desiderata is Latin and means 'things that are yearned for'. It was written by Max Ehrmann who originally copyrighted it on 3rd January 1927 as 'Go Placidly Amid The Noise And Haste'.
