1 Ιαν 2023 · Rhythmic movement included music-based exercise, activities, dancing, and drumming. Rhythmic movement improves physical function, global cognition, and quality of life. Rhythmic movement and routine exercise have similar effects on physical function.
27 Νοε 2001 · Central pattern generators are neuronal circuits that when activated can produce rhythmic motor patterns such as walking, breathing, flying, and swimming in the absence of sensory or descending inputs that carry specific timing information.
The foundation of the Dynamic Attending Theory is the relationship between time and synchrony (e.g., how the rhythms we experience interact with our surroundings.) 11 Attending is defined as a dynamic activity that involves "the interaction between an attender’s internal cortical rhythms with the external rhythms that make up an event in the ...
10 Ιαν 2024 · Here, we trained primates to internally maintain rhythms of different tempos and performed large-scale recordings of neuronal activity across the sensory-motor hierarchy. Results show that maintaining rhythms engages multiple brain areas, including visual, parietal, premotor, prefrontal, and hippocampal regions.
23 Αυγ 2021 · Circadian rhythms originate in intra-cellular molecular clocks—the so-called biological clock—not regulatory pacemaker neurons in the central nervous system. But circadian activity does entail many prominent displays of synchrony, and individuals entrain to one another's activity.
18 Ιουλ 2012 · Here, I consider findings from research into basic timing mechanisms and models through to the neuroscience of rhythm and meter. A network of neural areas, including motor regions, is regularly implicated in basic timing as well as processing of musical rhythm.
16 Ιαν 2022 · In this paper, we review recent studies focusing on four evidence-based interventions using rhythm and active music playing to improve motor functions following central nervous injury and/or degeneration: respectively, Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation, and Music-supported Therapy, Therapeutic Instrumental Music Performance, and Patterned Sensory ...
