Stone Taluses are two tiles wide and move every third beat. They have 3 Heart Containers, but must be hit multiple times to crack them, allowing their Hearts to be reduced, unless the character's Weapon has piercing.

75 hours in, I've only seen 6 Talus, 4 Hinox, 3 Lynels. Never beaten a Lynel yet...
It's a bit wasteful of arrows, but can be more efficient if you use multishot bows (at this close range all arrows would hit from 3x-5x bows), and you only need to do this about 2-3x. Or find taluses which have the ore on the top of their heads so you can go ham with melee weapons instead :)
