Abstract: Definitions and classifications used in the study of air pollution are introduced. Also introduced are a brief history of air pollution, its regulation, and trends of its ambient concentrations and emissions.
2 ημέρες πριν · Air pollution, release into the atmosphere of various gases, finely divided solids, or finely dispersed liquid aerosols at rates that exceed the natural capacity of the environment to dissipate and dilute or absorb them. High concentrations can cause undesirable health, economic, or aesthetic effects.
Sulfur dioxide and nitric oxide (NO) are the primary air pollutants, and ozone is a secondary pollutant (though there are negligible direct emissions of the gas itself). Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) is both a primary and secondary air pollutant.

Air pollution – the combination of outdoor and indoor particulate matter and ozone – is a risk factor for many of the leading causes of death, including heart disease, stroke, lower respiratory infections, lung cancer, diabetes, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Air pollution management means the reduction to acceptable levels or possible elimination of air pollutants whose presence in the air affects our health or the environmental ecosystem. Private and governmental entities and authorities implement actions to ensure the air quality (22).
1 Οκτ 2024 · Air pollution consists of chemicals or particles in the air that can harm the health of humans, animals and plants. It can even damage buildings. Pollutants in the air take many forms. They can be gasses, solid particles or liquid droplets. Sources of Air Pollution. Pollution enters the Earth's atmosphere in many different ways.
