13 Νοε 2024 · The process known as “pooling” involves combining smaller groups of data that are assumed to have the same value of a characteristic (e.g., a mean) and utilizing the resulting larger set (the pooled data) to obtain a more accurate estimate of that characteristic (Fig. 1) .

In this paper, we highlight current methodological issues, discuss advantages and disadvantages of commonly used techniques, and suggest steps to be taken to maximize the reliability and usefulness conclusions from pooled data analysis in decision making.
