7 Ιαν 2011 · I just installed windows 7 ultimate 64 bit on my dell vostro 1700... but it says the base system device driver is not installed. (Code 28)... And of course when i go to update it, it says it cannot find a driver for it automatically.
the Ricoh driver usually installs 3 devices, extract the Dell Vista driver (e.g. with Universal Extractor) and look for the following subdirectories and install the driver manually via the device manager: xd, sd and smc. worked for me on an Inspiron 1525 with Windows 7 32-bit yesterday.
Follow the instructions in the troubleshooter. If you cannot install a program, insert the installation disc for the program and, using the troubleshooter, browse to the program's setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar.
6 Δεκ 2011 · The Dell chipset package in that list is designed for both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7, so it should work. If not, try getting it from Intel's website (you can run the scanner to find and update all your devices).

5 Μαρ 2010 · Most likely your base system driver is your card reader either a Ricoh or Texas instruments or conexant. They are pretty interchangeable between manufacturers. all You need to do is go to device manager>right click on the problem device>proprieties>details tab>drop down menu>select hardware id.
