Hi, I have a Dell Inspirion PC desktop. It suddenly refuses to burn Cds, despite it working before until now. I can't burn in both Itunes and Windows Media Player. The DVD/CD drive still works fine and picks up both DVDs and CD-Rs. When I burn a CD with Itunes, it now says "Attempt at burn failed" and spits out the disc.
Dell suggested to delete the NoCDBurning key from the registry. You will find it in various places in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, HKEY_USERS, HKEY_CURRENT_USER. The value of 1 for the NoCDBurning key would indicate that you don't have ability to burn blank DVDs.
