29 Νοε 2020 · I use Dell Power Manager to manage the thermals on my precision laptops. While it does not allow manual fan control, there are a few thermal presets to choose from. Balanced/Cool/Max Power. Max power will ramp up the fan speed when it is needed.
There's a different utility called I used on my G5 5587 a bit ago and it would only let my fans spin to 4900 rpm no matter what where the default Dell BIOS curve would let the CPU throttle and then spin up to 5500.
21 Ιαν 2019 · Example use case: If I'm doing light/office work, I want to just let the fans run at 50% speed for consistency and let the CPU thermal throttle if necessary; and, if I know that I'm going to need CPU power, I will just turn EC fan control on and let the system manage it.
You can use the Dell Power Manager (applicable for select Dell laptops) to control the processor and cooling fan settings to manage performance, computer surface temperature, and fan noise. For more information, see Dell Knowledge Base article Guide to Dell Power Manager.

2 Απρ 2018 · There NEEDS to be a utility or BIOS update to ALLOW Fan control on Dell xps 15, at the very least to Allow it to go into high performance fan speeds EARLIER. Can be a simple control utilizing Dell approved specs.
