The linear dimensions must be 62 inches (158 centimeters) or less. Many airlines refer to “maximum linear dimensions” when talking about baggage allowances.
Carry-on should not exceed the following size and weight restrictions: 45 linear inches (22 x 14 x 9 in) or 115 centimeters (56 x 36 x 23 cm) including handles and wheels. Fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you. Personal item should be of proper size to fit under the seat in front of you.
Delta Carry-On Size and Weight Restrictions. Except for Delta Connection flights, Delta allows passengers to board with one carry-on bag and one personal item for free. At least one of your carry-on items must be small enough to be stored underneath the seat in front of you.
