The New York County Lawyers Association (NYCLA) is a bar association located in New York City. The New York County Lawyers Association was founded in 1908 because the existing bar association excluded some lawyers from membership due to their race, gender, ethnicity or religion.
The New York County Lawyers Association, located in the heart of the New York World Financial Center, is one of the largest, most influential bar associations in the country, and has pioneered some of the most far-reaching and tangible reforms in American jurisprudence and public policy.
NYCLA has two Member Categories: Non-voting and Voting. Members in the non-voting categories are entitled to all privileges of the Association except voting and holding office. Members in active voting categories are entitled to all privileges of the Association including voting and holding office.
