13 Φεβ 2016 · Denon DRA-800H DAC Measurements I always try to separate the DAC from the rest of AVR to see how well it performs. It was kind of hard here since there is no traditional pre-amp out. Rather, there is Zone 2 which can program to mirror the main zone output so that is what I did. I then fed the unit over HDMI and got our dashboard:

19 Οκτ 2021 · The AVR-X6400H has 3 zones, each with its corresponding dedicated DAC-stack, yet there is an additional (4th) ‘network dac’. Likewise, the DRA-800H has just 2 zones and three DAC stacks. For ‘n’ zones, there seems to be n + 1 DAC stacks. There must be a reason for this, but it is unknown to me.

7 Ιουλ 2019 · Weder ein Denon DRA 800h, noch einen Yamaha R-N803N würde ich kaufen mit seinem fast bis zur Unbrauchbarkeit abgespecktem Einmessystem. Mal von seiner Plastik Haptik ganz abgesehen. Die sind einfach zu teuer für das was sie sind. Nix halbes und nix ganzes. Aber das ist nur meine Meinung.
4 Οκτ 2021 · The Denon DRA-800H definitely has more than enough power to drive my Elac Vela BS 403 to insanely high levels in my room. And I also like what I ear, at least at medium-high volumes. The problem is that now that I know that the Denon DRA-800H, besides power, has modest performance in terms of SINAD, noise, distortion, etc.
4 Φεβ 2023 · The DRA is rated 100 W 8 ohm, 120 W 6 ohm but at higher THD. It is only 4 ohm compatible if you use the 4 ohm impedance setting. If you use that setting, the output will be limited, likely to well below 100 W. If you leave the setting at 8 ohm, it will likely give you the 140-150 w that you seem to be expecting, based on bench test results, but ...
17 Οκτ 2021 · Keep in mind the PCM5102's SINAD is only 93 dB. That means the very best the DRM-800H can do it 93 dB SINAD, that's only if there are no other losses in the signal chain of the preamp/DAC. The AK4458 used in the Denon AVRs have SINAD of 107 dB, that's 14 dB better than the DRA-800H.
30 Απρ 2023 · 314. Aug 28, 2023. #350. Many of you probably already know that Denon has announced the DRA-900H, a new 2-channel networked stereo receiver which is the successor to the DRA-800H model. Apparently the main improvements over the DRA-800H are in the video section (support to 8K video and HDR10+ technology).
