The average crude and age-adjusted mortality rates per 100,000 persons were, 45.7 and 39.7, respectively. The age-adjusted mortality rate ranged from 15.6 per 100,000 persons for Hawaii to 63.1 per 100,000 persons for Oklahoma.

29 Νοε 2023 · This study used MEPS data to estimate COPD-attributable direct medical costs from 2016 through 2019. National and state-specific COPD prevalence estimates stratified according to age were generated by using the 2019 American Community Survey (ACS) and 2019 BRFSS data (e-Table 1).
Pennsylvania has higher than average COPD prevalence, hospitalization, readmission and overall smoking rates but the death rate is slightly lower than average. It has a higher than average influenza vaccination rate and a lower than average pneumonia vaccination rate for people with COPD.

Disparities based on rural residence and smoking status increased.
