It all depends on what the desk surface is made out of. To do what you want you’d need a pretty thick surface, but it should be a pretty simple project to route out an opening for the power strip and a channel for the cord as long as the desk is solid wood/veneer over a solid core.
When attaching the Surge Protector to the frame mounting points, consider the location of other UPLIFT Desk accessories you plan to attach. The Surge Protector can be mounted to either side of the frame, in front or back. Refer to the images shown to determine where you would like to mount your Surge Protector.
