Inspection scheduling can be done by calling (313) 224-3115 during weekdays from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Complaint forms are available at Neighborhood City Halls, Detroit Public Libraries, and Detroit Police Department precincts.
Annual Inspections are required for vacant property and may occur more often based on complaints. Inspections are made to ensure compliance with the Property Maintenance Code, the Zoning Ordinance, the Michigan Building Code with regard to the safety and security of the buildings.
