20 Φεβ 2024 · Tdap Vaccine Side Effects. Like all medicines, vaccines can have side effects. However, the chance of a life-threatening reaction is small.
Adverse reactions. A common reaction after subcutaneous administration with the diluent provided, is a diffuse swelling up to 5 mm in diameter at the site of injection. Occasionally this swelling may be hard and painful and last for up to 3 days post injection.

Be sure to tell your child's doctor about any side effects that occur after your child receives the vaccine. This may include seizures, fever, crying that will not stop, or severe redness or swelling where the shot was given.
