All such claims must be accompanied by the appropriate ICD-10 code for preoperative examination (i.e., Z01.810 – Z01.818). Additionally, you must document on the claim the appropriate ICD-10 code for the condition that prompted surgery.
17 Ιαν 2018 · Per guidelines Z01 codes are first-listed only allowed so you could never use them as a secondary code. Perhaps you need to be more specific like using the Z01.810 and Z01.811 codes for cardiovascular and respiratory symptoms examinations.
