Identify and compare the parts of plants that we eat, and the roles that they play in a mature plant. Explain the needs of plants by observing the effect of capillary action. Explain how plants use seeds to reproduce and how seeds are dispersed. Identify plants’ adaptations to their environment.

Plants are also the only source of oxygen in nature. What are the Different Parts of a Plant. Broadly, plants have two organ systems: A) the root system and B) the shoot system.
The wide variety of foods we eat today originated in many different and geographically separate parts of the world. Many foods come from plant roots. Important root crops include carrots, parsnips, beets, sweet potatoes, radishes, rutabagas and turnips.
We eat different plant parts every day, from fruits and vegetables to hearty grains to sunflower seeds as snacks. When using plants as teaching tools, it’s important that we give students of all ages some necessary context. Different parts of plants can have different uses, including as a nutrition source.
