The limit dimensions for standard threads given in the table correspond to the - tolerance field 6g for bolt threads - tolerance field 6H for nut threads. The metric steel / metal threads specified in this catalog are based on these tolerance fields.

The metric ISO standard thread is standardized according to the DIN 13-1 standard, which covers standard threads with an outer diameter of 1 to 68 mm. This standard was first defined back in 1949, but has been revised and updated many times since then.
Each thread is characterized by its major diameter, D (D maj in the diagram), and its pitch, P. ISO metric threads consist of a symmetric V-shaped thread. In the plane of the thread axis, the flanks of the V have an angle of 60° to each other. The thread depth is 0.54125 × pitch.
The information in the table for the metric ISO thread corresponds to DIN standard 13-1, which covers standard threads from 1 to 68 mm in diameter. As you can see from the M thread table, the distance between the thread sizes increases with increasing size.
