11 Αυγ 2023 · I am just trying to install GitHub Desktop on my Windows 7 PC. But it's saying "the procedure entry point DiscardVirtualMemory could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll." How can I resolve this error?
7 Ιαν 2024 · I don't know how definitive this site is, but it says that DiscardVirtualMemory is only available in kernel32.dll for Windows 10 and above: https://www.geoffchappell.com/studies/windows/win32/kernel32/api/index.htm.
22 Φεβ 2024 · If DiscardVirtualMemory fails, the contents of the region is not altered. Use this function to discard memory contents that are no longer needed, while keeping the memory region itself committed. Discarding memory may give physical RAM back to the system.

11 Αυγ 2023 · tidy-dev commented Aug 14, 2023. 👋 Here is a windows installer for 3.2.4 if you would like to try a version before the Electron upgrade that resulted in removing support for windows < 10. If you try it, please me know if that clears up the error you are seeing. :)
29 Απρ 2024 · There is no possibility of a problem using newer versions of libraries on a computer with an older version of Windows, so don't worry about a Windows incompatibility when updating your libraries.
