It even allows characters to gain additional proficiencies, magic items, spells, or feats before the campaign begins. Makers of magic-infused objects, artificers are defined by their inventive nature. They see magic as a complex system waiting to be decoded and controlled.
During character creation, and as the character is leveled, feats will be granted. The types of feats and when they're earned is as follows: Origin Feats are typically gained during character creation through the background feature. The Human species grants an additional origin feat, as do some class features.
A feat represents a talent or an area of expertise that gives a character special capabilities. It embodies training, experience, and abilities beyond what a class provides. See the feats in the Player's Handbook for more information. At certain levels, your class gives you the Ability Score Improvement feature.
Feats are an optional rule in D&D 5e that give characters special abilities, and sometimes improve a single ability score. Even if your group plays using feats, many players will not take any feats until their characters reach a fairly high level.
