Dobutamine is a beta-1 agonist that stimulates the heart to increase myocardial contractility and cardiac output. It is used for short-term treatment of cardiac decompensation due to depressed contractility from organic heart disease or cardiac surgery.
23 Φεβ 2024 · Mechanism of Action. Dobutamine is a pharmacological agent with ionotropic and chronotropic effects depending on the dose. Inotropic effects on the myocardium occur by selectively binding and activating the β-1 receptors. The medication is indicated for decompensated congestive heart failure because of the sympathomimetic effects.
2 Σεπ 2008 · Dobutamine is a synthetic catecholamine with a strong affinity for both β 1 - and β 2-receptors, which it binds to at a 3:1 ratio (Table; Figure 3B). With its cardiac β 1-stimulatory effects, dobutamine is a potent inotrope, with weaker chronotropic activity.
Dobutamine is a medication that stimulates β 1 receptors in the heart, increasing its contractility and cardiac output. It is used to treat acute heart failure, cardiogenic shock, and coronary artery disease.
However, recent studies from a number of laboratories indicate that the mechanism of action of dobutamine is substantially more complex. Dobutamine has the capacity to stimulate beta 1-, beta 2-, and alpha 1-adrenoceptors in the cardiovascular system at doses that approximate those used clinically.
13 Ιουλ 2024 · Dobutamine is a synthetic isoprenaline derivative and an adrenergic agonist that increases cardiac contractility and vasodilation. It is used for low Q states from MI, cardiac surgery, cardiomyopathy, septic shock and cardiac stress testing.
17 Φεβ 2020 · Dobutamine is a beta 1 -adrenergic receptor agonist that increases contractility and heart rate, and stimulates vasodilation. It is used for cardiac decompensation, inotropic support in heart failure, and advanced life support.
