18 Αυγ 2012 · I'm working on a 07 Base Charger with a 2.7 V6. Was towed to shop with radiator already removed. Customer complained that vehicle overheated on the road and they had it towed to a friends house to try and repair. Seems that this was the third time that this has happened.
18 Απρ 2005 · From reading all the posts on the "sludge" issue causing premature engine failure on the 2.7, it appears to me that this was fixed starting in model year 2001. I don't see the problem on 2001 and up? Am I correct, or are there the same failures on the 2001-2005 2.7 engines?
16 Νοε 2020 · The 2.7 liter engine originally had a tendency to generate sludge which caused engine failure. Similar problems have been appearing on Toyota and Volkswagen engines.
5 Μαρ 2011 · My 2002 Intrepid (120,000 miles) 2.7 has had a random misfire for a couple years now. Typically it'll happen when the engine is cold , but not always. Pretty much a perpetual check engine light. Here are the different scenarios that show up.
15 Ιαν 2008 · I have been reading alot about the 2.7L engines dying around 30000 miles. Anyone out there having this problem. Seems the engines get gunked up with sludge real bad and the engines seizes. Timing belt breaking etc............
6 Αυγ 2009 · The 2.7L's started out as a very bad motor when they were introduced for the Intrepid back in 98'. They were badly designed, and had issues with sludge. Many of them in the first few years failed well before 50K miles. They failed violently too, many had thrown rods...
7 Αυγ 2017 · Some of the issues you're describing were caused by my EGR Valve that failed. I had rough Idle, loss of power, surging at low cruising speed, misfiring, and stalling when accelerating from a stop.
