7 Αυγ 2017 · I assume you have the 42RLE 4-speed transmission. The problem may not be the TC (torque converter) but the symptoms you describe are common with TC problems. There's a TC clutch and there are TC valves in the transmission valve body that control the TC clutch.

6 Οκτ 2003 · 2.7 problems. have your engine checked out for sludge build-up asap. it's a known problem, however chrysler isn't admitting it yet. most engines begin to have problems around 70,000 or so.
15 Ιαν 2008 · I have been reading alot about the 2.7L engines dying around 30000 miles. Anyone out there having this problem. Seems the engines get gunked up with sludge real bad and the engines seizes.

3 Αυγ 2015 · One of the most common causes of transmission problems is due to contaminated fluid and low fluid level. When this occurs, solenoids cannot create enough pressure to move fluid throughout the system. The results are hard, erratic shifting or no shifting at all.
18 Απρ 2005 · From reading all the posts on the "sludge" issue causing premature engine failure on the 2.7, it appears to me that this was fixed starting in model year 2001. I don't see the problem on 2001 and up? Am I correct, or are there the same failures on the 2001-2005 2.7 engines?
