25 Σεπ 2011 · I'll turn the ignition key and the glow plug light comes on, then soon after a "start error" message shows up in the instrument cluster display. When i turn the key further to start the engine, nothing happens -- the starter doesn't make a sound.
21 Ιουν 2019 · Here are the common issues that can cause your Sprinter to crank but not start. Your van’s engine needs air, fuel, and a spark to run. It is highly likely that if the engine is cranking but not starting that it has thrown an OBDII code. Use an OBDII scanner to check and see if the engine has thrown any trouble codes.
31 Μαρ 2018 · Try cleaning the big ground on the firewall and smacking the fuse box under the steering column and smacking the skreem module, and wiggling the antenna connector. Inspect the key, make sure the chip hasn't fallen out. Remove the sprinter key from the key chain so as to isolate it from other nearby RFID chips.

1 Σεπ 2010 · Erratic Member. The "Start Error" is signaled if the SKREEM doesn't recognize the RFID chip in the key's handle. the ECU is confused. Cold weather can loosen connections, damp weather can cause dirt and grease to conduct electricity between connector pins.
