In the case of COVID-19, children and teens have a much greater chance of being infected with COVID-19 that results in heart issues, including myocarditis, than experiencing myocarditis as a side effect of the vaccine.

In this article, we review the cardiac manifestations of acute COVID-19 infection, multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children, and postvaccine myocarditis. The limited research on the effects of COVID-19 on neonates and infants is also reported.
