The Taxonomy of Intervention Intensity was developed based on research to support educators in evaluating and building intervention intensity. The seven dimensions include strength, dosage, alignment, attention to transfer, comprehensiveness, behavior or academic support, and individualization.
Assuming that toxicity is minimized or nonexistent in a behavioral intervention, an optimal dose can be defined as either the maximally efficacious dose that is not conditional on patient adherence (intended dose) or the maximally effective (actual or observed) dose that is conditional on adherence.
Optimal doses of psychotherapy in routine settings range between 4 and 26 sessions (4-6 for low intensity guided self-help) and vary according to setting, clinical population and outcome measures. Weekly therapy appears to accelerate the rate of improvement compared to less frequent schedules.
26 Σεπ 2014 · Probably, the most commonly recognized treatment intensity dimension is treatment dose. Although dose was described across all three papers as session length and frequency and across two papers as total treatment duration, other aspects of dose were also considered important.

• Dose response is a neglected area of research in psychosocial interventions • Usually defined by treament manuls in RCTs • In practice often by service systems • Country and region specific definitions dosage defined via sessions • Psychometric feedback over the course of treatment allows a more patient specific adaptation
16 Ιουλ 2016 · Therapeutic dose has been found to be related to more desirable clinical outcome and policy guidelines often suggest optimum treatment lengths. For example, NICE guidelines suggest 16–20 sessions of CBT for depression (NICE 2016b).
