I'm using youtube-dl and, with the overwhelming amount of switches to use, I can't seem to find anything to fit my needs.

4 Αυγ 2016 · youtube-dl -F [http_link] so. then just pick formats and join with a plus. 137 = 2k, 30fps. For example, I dont want 60fps, but I want best audio. youtube-dl -f 137+bestaudio --merge-output-format mkv [http_link] Note that not all formats merge into mp4, so mkv is a safer bet.

14 Φεβ 2014 · this program downloads just the audio if you so wish and hence you save on bandwidth: instead of downloading a video and then extracting the audio at your end, you download just the audio. if you don't wish to install all the recommends suggested by sudo apt-get install python-pip use sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends python-pip.
21 Ιουν 2014 · If I had ffmpeg installed and specified both video and audio formats with -f 137+140, then youtube-dl would download video and audio and afterwards combine them together into one video file. If you don't have ffmpeg installed, youtube-dl will by default select the highest quality format that has both audio and video.
