16 Οκτ 2023 · The typical doxepin dosage for anxiety and depression is 75 mg to 150 mg daily. For insomnia, most people take 6 mg of doxepin at bedtime. Doxepin cream is applied 4 times a day for a maximum of 8 days. You may need a lower dose of doxepin if you’re 65 years old and over or have liver problems.
For oral dosage forms (capsules or solution): For depression or anxiety: Adults and children 12 years of age and older—At first, 75 milligrams (mg) once a day or in divided doses during the day. Your doctor may adjust your dose as needed. However, the dose is usually not more than 150 mg per day.

The recommended starting dose of SILENOR in elderly patients (≥ 65 years old) is 3 mg once daily. The daily dose can be increased to 6 mg, if clinically indicated.
