How about the exact AC you should stop using -5 to hit/+10 damage? Or how many rounds it'd take on average for a Hold Person to wear off?
20 Απρ 2021 · Using Bless as a simple example, calculate the normal DPR of your targets, then assume the average of +2.5 and calculate the new DPR. The difference between these two DPRs is the DPR of that Bless spell. As all parties will be different, the DPR of any given Bless spell can be all over the place.
Ability Scores: 8, 14, 17, 8, 10, 20. Average DPR vs AC 10. 93.84. Total dice: 7d8 + 7d6 + 36. Crit dice: 14d8 + 14d6 + 36.
If you just have multiple attacks, it's easy enough to multiply the average single-attack DPR by the number of attacks to get your true expected damage per round. But then you get effects that use an "If X then Y" structure, and those require some (admittedly fairly basic) statistical math to figure out, which is too complicated to go into here.
