Acting. 1998–2009: Early work. Yamashita made his acting debut in NHK's Shonentachi in 1998. He gained more attention after appearing in Ikebukuro West Gate Park in 2000. His biggest break as an actor though came in 2006 when he landed the title role in the television drama Kurosagi.
