Dream People of the Amazon • 32m. Dream People of the Amazon tells the story of the Achuar, indigenous people who live in a remote and pristine part of the Amazon rain forest in southeastern Ecuador. The Achuar had no contact with the outside world until the early 1970′s.
The Pirahã (pronounced [piɾaˈhɐ̃]) [a] are an indigenous people of the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil. They are the sole surviving subgroup of the Mura people , and are hunter-gatherers . They live mainly on the banks of the Maici River in Humaitá and Manicoré in the state of Amazonas .

27 Νοε 2019 · In the Ecuadorian Amazon there are between 130,000 and 146,000 indigenous people, making up 20% of the regional population. They are distributed among ten ethnic groups; the seven most populous include the Kichwa, Shuar , Achuar , Shiwar, Cofán, Siona-Secoya and Huaorani ( Waorani ).
7 Οκτ 2021 · The Achuar got their nickname “The Dream People of the Amazon” from their strong beliefs that dreams hold hidden knowledge and guidance. Their entire lifestyle revolves around dream interpretation which they practice through a daily ceremony that takes place each day before dawn.
The Achuar people of the Ecuadorian and Peruvian Amazon rainforest are one of the few lucky enough to have finally achieved a good balance between Western influences and their own way of life. They took Ayahuasca and in their collective dream, they asked their ancestors what should be done.
27 Σεπ 2020 · There are signs that deforestation, drought and fire are pushing the fringes of the Amazon forest (which includes the Villas Boas’ Xingu) towards such a point. Scientists do not know for sure.
