In Drop C bass tuning, the four strings of a standard bass are tuned as follows (for A4=440 Hz): C1 - 4th string (lowest): This is the thickest string and plays the lowest note in Drop C tuning. The standard E1 is dropped down to a C1, hence the name “Drop C tuning”. Its frequency is approximately 32.70 Hz.
9 Φεβ 2005 · Unfortunately, no one makes a bass string set made specifically for dropped tunings, so you'll have to build one yourself. Most music stores sell E and B string SINGLES. You'll need to buy a 4 strings set, and an additional E or B string Single to get a properly matched set for Drop-Tunings.
Your bass can be tuned to drop C by tuning the strings to CGCF for 4-string basses, and CGCFA for 5-string basses. This can be done with the help of a physical or an online tuner, or by ear using a different instrument.
20 Ιαν 2014 · I use .130-.105-.80-.65 gauge strings and I can do standard tunings from A to C. I usually just have it standard as BEAD and I set it up to my liking. Tuning down or up still feels good to me.

I tune in Drop C just fine on my Fender Jazz using Ernie Ball Super Slinkies or DR Lo-Riders (both .110's). The only issue I had at first was a bit of fret buzz on the lower frets but nothing a quick setup didn't cure.
