In Drop C bass tuning, the four strings of a standard bass are tuned as follows (for A4=440 Hz): C1 - 4th string (lowest): This is the thickest string and plays the lowest note in Drop C tuning. 20 Ιαν 2014 · I use .130-.105-.80-.65 gauge strings and I can do standard tunings from A to C. I usually just have it standard as BEAD and I set it up to my liking. Tuning down or up still feels good to me.
