Our guy Gimlin had really dry skin and brittle fur when we adopted him 4 years ago. Turns out he has a mild chicken allergy and his foster was feeding him a chicken based food. It took several months on a new diet, but he's been dry skin free ever since.
Dry skin on entire body. Advice. My chihuahuas skin looks like this underneath her coat over nearly 90% of her body. It’s looks scaly but doesn’t quite come off likes scales. She doesn’t seem particularly itchy or annoyed by it either. Any clue what this might be? Some background:

Ive been applying a sensitive skin scent free lotion to the affected areas once a day and it seems to be healing. I was wondering if this excessive dryness could be food related?
