3 Σεπ 2019 · While Kale can be frozen (you’ll find that under Freeze Kale the Right Way) I’ve found that dehydrating it in the oven is a great solution and helps me to prevent any wasted kale. If you have a food dehydrator, you can use that, but if you have a lot of kale, you could literally be drying for days!
If you don’t have a dehydrator, you can use your oven to dry kale. The key to dehydrating kale in the oven is to use the lowest temperature possible (or 125 degrees Fahrenheit, if yours goes that low). My oven goes to 145 at the lowest if I use the warming function.
11 Σεπ 2024 · Since oven temperatures are higher than in a dehydrator, kale will dry up much faster – about 3 to 4 hours give or take. Alternatively, you can simply leave your kale in the oven overnight with just the oven light on.
When I put two full trays in the oven, I preheat at 415* and when it reaches that temp, put the kale in and bake for 5mins. Then bump temp down to 215* and bake for 25mins. That’s always works perfect for me.
