I prefer the paint plus primer formula, but do not assume that means one coat. It doesn't - it's just 'stickier' than regular paint. You still need two coats for good coverage. And if you do any wall repair before painting then you should definitely use primer, plus two coats of paint. (A coat of primer is never a bad idea, honestly.)

I’ve tried every single brand of paint I can get locally, and by far my favorite is Behr Marquee. One coat coverage going from dark burgundy to off white. Expensive but when it saves time, it’s worth every penny IME. BM is good as well, didn’t like it was much as Behr, and stay away from Valspar.
