Can anyone give me some pointers on what the issue could be with my Dunlop DVp1 volume pedal ... When it is all the way heel down the guitar is still audible - the pedal works the other way increasing the volume but does not turn the volume all the way off ..
Your update suggests that your pickup 'might not be compatible' with the volume pedal. That's typically not a thing, it's all audio signals if everything is functioning properly.
With usual 250k volume pedal that counts to 125k and 83k! Buffer (in pedal itself or before it) removes that problem, but can get too bright if guitar isn't dialed in for it. I'm using 250k after buffer and it feels just the same, just tone is way brighter.

1 Φεβ 2012 · Dunlop's DVP1 is an obvious competitor to the BOSS FV-500H, but lacks the latter's minimum volume facility. Despite this deficit, it's a viable alternative, although the asking price could be considered quite steep for such a simple pedal.
